"REPRISE" series reconfigures Graphpaper's archived materials and designs, proposing them as new values.

A long-sleeve skipper shirt made from deadstock linen woven with fine 80-count yarns. The fabric has a light feel and natural texture characteristic of linen. By reconsidering material that had remained unused, it is reconstructed here as a new garment with renewed purpose.

REPRISE

REPRISE :Built from
remaining materials from
past collections.

REPRISE is an initiative by Graphpaper that revisits materials and designs from past collections through a contemporary perspective, giving them new value. It makes use of leftover fabrics from previous collections as well as materials that have been used over the years, reinterpreting them for the present while carrying forward their history and the passage of time.

Rather than simply recreating what came before, REPRISE brings elements from the past back into form within today’s context. Through this process, we aim to reveal the inherent qualities of each material and bring out new ways of seeing them.

Fabric :TEIKOKU SEN-I Co., Ltd.

This skipper shirt is made with upcycled deadstock linen woven by Fujii Textile Mill in the Koto region on the eastern shore of Lake Biwa, an area known for linen production.

Linen has little stretch and is prone to yarn breakage, making it inherently difficult to weave. The finer the yarn, the greater the difficulty, and it is often reinforced with water-soluble vinylon during weaving. This fabric, however, is woven without such reinforcement or sizing.

While using vinylon would make production more efficient, removing it afterward requires high-pressure processing that can place stress on the fabric. Fujii Textile Mill deliberately avoids this process, prioritizing the natural texture and quality of the linen itself. The result is a fabric made with a focus on preserving the integrity of the material rather than production efficiency.
